Tag Archive: Darrelle Revis

Welcome to the Boom Boom Room, Everyone sit down relax, because we always bring it.  Last week we had a few hecklers in the crowd, so this week lets us do our job, we don’t go to yours and knock the mop outta your hand.  As always tip your bartenders and ENJOY THE SHOW!

Revis to the NFC? As a fan of gang green I’ve seen great players come and go (John Abraham, Aaron Glenn, Keyshawn Johnson, and James Farrior) and sorry ass jokers stay (Neil O’Donnell). It’s the way of the world with the Jets.  However, I’m with moving Revis; we are not in a position to pay a corner $15million, damn the Jeter (Yankee4life) talk Revis has been preaching. If we were Super Bowl or bust it’s a no brainer (pay the man), but a 9-7 record for us this year would be a success.

So where should Revis go?  Is it Atlanta, San Fran, or a Darkhorse team (Minnesota, Denver or Tampa Bay)?  I like Tampa Bay, they have salary cap space, there a team on the rise, and they have picks.  If Revis is Revis it will be good for both sides.  My gut tells me with a $1million bonus due next Saturday that Revis Island will be like the island on LOST, in NFL purgatory.  But I’m still gonna hold onto my jersey though cuz I paid for that shit.

Onto my thoughts:
1. If I had one word for Deandre Jordan over Brandon Knight it would be “DAMN!”  If I had more words it would be “Knight why did you not get the heck out the way!”
2. 18 straight for EL Heat is impressive as hell, may sound crazy but I ain’t crowning them yet, Dennis Green can, but not Big Play.
3.  Harvin to the Pacific Northwest (Seattle) is a great trade for both sides (I like the Vikes getting Tavon Austin from West Virginia University)
4.  Boldin with Crabtree and Vernon Davis equals championship yeah I said it (Big J did say it would take the Niners 3 years to get to the Lombordi).
5.  S.T.A.T (Amare Stoudemire) out for 6 weeks hurts but we are used to playing without him #Knicksfan4life
6.  I didn’t like those Michigan jerseys could barely see there name
7.  They say Chris Bosh’s video bombs are funny… I think it’s Deer Meat
8.  Kevin Durant and Paul Pierce got the worse hair in the NBA.  Them ninjas can’t even get waves.
9.  Is Tiger back?  I bet he had chicks all over the tournament
10. Did Flacco say he would laugh sometimes during Ray Lewis’s speeches?  You gonna announce that after the man retires?  #ThrowTheFlag (I bet he wont be laughing when Boldin isn’t there catching those terrible passes)

These are just my thoughts, right or wrong its just how I’m feeling at the time.  Now tell me what you think?  Follow me @bprunsportsmenm

Through the eyes of “Big Play” (My own Monday err sometimes Tuesday Morning QB)

I’m shocked as hell at how well Joe Flacco played not only in the Super Bowl, but the entire playoffs.  Elite or not 11tds 0ints is not a fluke (Matty Ice its time to RISE UP! Your game).  Flacco went through Luck, Peyton, Brady, and the new Phenomenon know as Kaepernicking (kiss the bicep), I don’t know about you, but to me that sounds like $100 million dollar contract.  Now on to my thoughts:

  1. Chris Culliver (#29 on the 49ers aka Aint wit that sweet stuff) was Beat Meat, just fall on Jacoby Jones IDIOT!
  2. Jerome Boger (NFL Referee during Super Bowl) was Deer Meat.  Remember there was a controversy about these refs, a lot of refs in the league felt that some members of this crew was unworthy of officiating this game #Gradechanging
  3. 49ers Corners got exploited! Revis to the 49ers makes a lot of sense we need draft picks (I’m a Jets Fan) and they have 13, yes 13 picks in this upcoming draft.
  4. Damn Beyonce fine.
  5. Damn Beyonce FINE!!!  And the game was cool too.
  6. I’m glad the lights went out (which saved the 49ers) before the Ravens turned it off their damn selves.
  7. I’m Happy Ray Lewis career ended with a Super Bowl win.
  8. I’m Happy Ray Lewis career ended PERIOD.  Just to much talk about him the past 2 weeks.
  9. Phil Simms was TERRIBLE calling the game last night.
  10. I thought the GO DADDY commercial with Bar Rafalei was NASTY! Man, my daughter was watching.
  11. Big J did predict the 49ers would win the Super Bowl in Jim Harbaugh’s 3rd year, so look out for that.  Big J also said that the 49ers would blow out the Ravens, so take that as you will.

*Bonus* I believe Ed Reed will retire.  Don’t know why, just have a feeling.

Thanks for reading Ray’s Boom Boom Room, these are just my thoughts right or wrong its how I was feeling at the time.  Grab a drink (non-alcoholic depending on the time) and tell me what you think.

With the Ravens intimidating D, Steelers zone blitzing, power hitting unit, and the Bengals no name fearsome D.  You would believe by far the defensive division in the league would be the AFC North. However, there is a new division doing the dam thing and it’s the NFC West.

Yeah yeah I know I said it the NFC West, we already knew about the 49ers, but how about the ever improving units of the Cardinals and Seahawks. These units are starting to be physical and dominant, we didn’t see this coming.  At the end of last season the Cards had won 7 of there last 9 with Patrick Peterson looking like a cross between Revis and Primetime, justifying his 5th overall pick in the 2011 draft. Seattle’s D, with their tall (avg. height 6’1) physical secondary, and run game had everyone eating skittles.  We know about the 49ers with “P-Will” (Patrick Willis) and LaVorro (NaVorro Bowman).

Although, the offenses are about as average as Katie Holmes; these 3 teams remain competitive and in ball games.  With the division beating teams like, the Packers twice (thank you Fail Mary), the Patriots (Gostkowski aint Vinatieri), the NY Jets (no comment), the Eagles (can’t have turnovers and keep winning), the Cowboys (jury still out on Romo), and the Redskins (in pee-wee you learn not to throw the ball at a player Josh Morgan).  The fact that Jeff Fisher is now coaching the Rams lends you to believe that Rams D will be on top as well. I pick the NFC West am I wrong if there’s a division I’m missing let me know and holla at your boy.

In 2009 when Rex Ryan took over the JETS in his introductory press conference he said that young corner Darrelle Revis was the best corner in the league; which made most members of the media chuckle. After all, the media knew the 2nd yr corner out of Pitt was talented and had great upside, especially after making the Pro Bowl under the recently fired Eric Mangini; but the best corner in the league approaching his 3rd season, C’MON NOW REX.

However, it turns out that Rex was right.  In the 3 seasons under Rex, Revis made the Pro Bowl and All Pro team.  He has established himself as the best corner in the NFL and even has an island named after his talent (Revis Island where Wide Receivers get “Lost” and there is no Gilligan, or fine ass Mary Ann and Ginger). Now in his 6th season, the Great Revis has tore his ACL thus ending his season and the Jets season as well according to fans and the media.

Some say Gang Green should pray to the man whose name rhymes with Revis (and if that doesn’t work Tebow your up). The Jets face a tall task no doubt and with “The Beast” (Andre Johnson) and “Fitz” (Larry Fitzgerald) still to come on the schedule.  Can Rex Ryan depend on a corner that struggles to say the names of his 10 kids to be focused enough to place these wide receivers on ALCATRAZ?

I say HELL NAH; although as defensive coordinator of the Ravens he’s had success with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed both missing an extended period of time. However, the Jets don’t have the front 7 as his previous Ravens teams; and the strength of the Jets is the secondary it doesn’t look good for Rex.  People always say you shouldn’t trust a skinny Chef, so can Rex still cook up a mad defense As a Jets fan, I believe in Gang Green even after last week. WATCH THEM EARN IT!!!
