How can the NFC East be one of the most talented divisions, but also be one of the most inconsistent divisions in the NFL? The way these teams play reminds me of some girls I’ve tried to date or sleep with, but always ended up a tragedy.  I know your thinking football and dating don’t mix right?  You’re absolutely right!

Its not like I sit around thinking about girls while watching football.  But let me explain why I compare the two.  BTW No-Homo.  Season after season your never know what team is going to win the division, its always a crap shoot.  They either tease you into thinking they can have a good chance at winning a Superbowl.  In fact a certain team won a Superbowl then the next few years have been completely horrible.  Or they hype you up thinking you’ve found, “THE ONE”, the player that will get you to the promise land, but all you find is a disappointing season.  The NFC East is hard to predict just like a WOMAN!

Fellas, have you ever dated a women that was fine as hell and you think you can get with her?  She throwing that Miley Cyrus at you, but once the opportunity presents its self she ends up being a teaser.  Kinda like the way the EAGLES play.  They excite fans with their speed and fast pace offense, but its a tease.  Because they will find a way to lose, either they are going to turn the ball over, play bad defense, or just not score enough points.

How about a girl you’ve slept with but, in the back of your mind you know she isn’t marriage material.  She has potential, but lacking in other areas.  The GIANTS of course.  They have a proven 2 time Superbowl winning Quarterback and a possible Hall Of Fame coach but this season they start 0-4.

Or a chick that the first few times you see her she was fine ass hell, but the next few times you see her she is suspect. On Seinfield they called this the “Two-Face”.  This is the REDSKINS.  You saw her at the club looking amazing and then you see her later with no make-up, without her wig, or weave and looks like a Dumpster Fire.  Also she forgot to use Dove in certain areas.

What about that “All-American Girl” (blonde of course).  She is the one you’ve tried to date in High School, but never could get it because you were in the “friend zone”.  These are the COWBOYS. On paper the relationship would be great.  You get along as friends, but can never figure out why you can’t take it to the next level with her, or “Unfriend Zone” yourself.  Then when you get close she starts to have meltdowns and has problems upstairs (yea I’m talking about Jerry Jones).  Just another tease. (Video is Explicit)

Bottom line is its all about expectations. These NFC East teams just like some women are expected to be a winner. These teams have strong potential, but they don’t bring it every Sunday.  The NFC East has a total of 4 wins. Really!?  I guess just like in life you have to go through the bad to hopefully get to the good.

As long as #12 is at QB, the division will go by way of New England.  Rex’s scheme don’t lie, Jets will be better than you think, especially if QB’s limit turnovers.  Spending money don’t get you rings Miami and Buffalo is on the rise but not there yet.

Jay:  Patriots Bills Dolphins Jets-

I think the Pats will not be dominate but the division is not tough.  The Bills I think will come along late when EJ Manuel gets his bumps.  Don’t believe the Dolphins to many questions, QB? WR? RB? Pass Rush?  Sorry BP, but Jets are a dumpster fire, hell I’m considering starting Freeman in fantasy on them.

CR:  Patriots Dolphins Bills Jets-

Of course New England always find a way to win.  Miami might be that boring team you don’t want to see on Monday night, the Bills might do something when EJ Manuel gets back.  The Jets can’t figure out who their Quarterback is (shout out to Mr. Miller).  The division will be dominated by the Patriots.

AFC North

BP:  Steelers Ravens Browns Bengals

Tomlin will have the Steelers ready; missing the playoffs 2yrs in a row ain’t happening.  The champs will be in the hunt, but you can’t always replace leadership with just talent alone.  Browns will be competitive and wouldn’t shock me if there in the hunt.  The Bengels’ will take a step back, and learn the meaning of Hard Knocks.

Jay:  Bengals Steelers Ravens Browns

Bengals should win this Division FINALLY! If they can’t then they wont for another 10 years.  Steelers rebound especially with Hailey and Big Ben working together.  Ravens only a slight tumble as Flacco feels the weight and pressure of being the man (no Ray Ray to deflect attention) and the Browns will compete their butts off but they are just not there yet.

CR:  Ravens Bengals Browns Steelers

I think Joe Flacco might light it up for the Ravens. I believe in their vertical game with Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones. One of my next articles is going to be titled “Bombs over Baghdad or Bombs over B-more”.  Cincinnati will make the playoffs and probably lose the first round.  Browns will be Browns, and Pittsburgh might be considering a new head coach after another disappointing  season without making the playoffs.

AFC South

BP:  Texans Titans Colts Jaguars
This has to be the year for the Texans it’s now or never a healthy Cushing and Super Bowl experience of Ed Reed will get them over the hump.  The Johnson and Greene combination will take pressure off Locker by slowing down the game for him; hey it helped Sanchez.  No sophomore slump for Luck but his Defense will fail him and Jacksonville is just Jacksonville.

Jay:  Texans Colts Titans Jaguars

I don’t like the Texans make up, just feel like they fold under pressure and have so much talent, but the division can’t put up a fight.  The Colts are the Andrew Luck show, and I’m sorry I think Luck doesn’t regress, but wont pull as many last second wins as last year.  Locker and Gabbert, the cancer of both Franchises’.

CR:  Texans Colts Titans Jaguars

I Have Houston leading the division followed by Indy, Tennessee, and Jacksonville. Houston will win second seed while the other teams will be sitting at home during the playoffs (nothing new for J-ville). I’m wit Jay on this one, I don’t believe Indy will make all those come backs like last year, now they are the hunted.

AFC West

BP:  Broncos Chiefs Chargers Raiders
The name Peyton Manning is good enough for 10 wins alone so expect Denver to win 12-13 which is more than enough to win the West.  KC will be in the hunt for a playoff berth.  SD and Oak may need a year or two to compete on a playoff level.

Jay:  Broncos Chiefs Chargers Raiders

Old man Manning is still the best regular season QB to ever play the game.  No one can touch him in the regular season, and while the Chiefs will be much improved they wont dethrone the Broncos.  Chargers are a straight dumpster fire, Thank You Norv Turner.  Oakland, should just hope and pray Run DMC can play a whole season, that will be their Super Bowl.

CR:  Broncos Chiefs Raiders Chargers

I can strongly see Denver going 14-2, Kansas City is gonna be the sleeper team that gets hot. If Jamal Charles stay healthy  he would be key. I’m thinking Brian Westbrook numbers for Charles.  Who cares about Chargers and Raiders, but we know we will get another boring Thursday Night Football game between the two.

Playoffs

CR:  I want to go first here; Call me Mr. Cleo or some kin to Miss Cleo the physic because I have some bold predictions for ya. Call me crazy or I don’t know what I’m talking about, but everyone said the same thing to me last year when I was driving the Seahawk fan bus.  I call it THE RETURN OF ANDY REID!  Yes you read it here first. The Kansas City Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl!  This is how they get there.

CRWild Card– Ravens over Patriots Kansas City over Cincinnati

We know the Ravens can beat them and Flacco turns into a different QB in the Playoffs.  Also I think the wheels are starting to fall off of the Brady Wagon.  Too Much Andy Reid and Charles for Cincy to keep up, this could spell the end of Marvin Lewis.

CR: Divisional Rd– Kansas City over Houston Denver over Ravens

Alex Smith playing mistake free will force the Texans Offense to produce which, will produce turnovers that the Chiefs will capitalize on to win.  Peyton Manning’s revenge, and it will be sweet, I expect a rout and that Manning will exercise the demons at least for one game.

CR: AFC Championship–  Kansas City over Denver

I figure the Broncos will beat the Chiefs twice in the regular season and you know how hard it is to beat a team three times in one season.  On a side note I think Kansas City will take it because who has more too prove than Alex Smith and Andy Reid?  Has Andy Reid ever had an accurate Quarterback?  With Alex Smith running the west coast offense I think its gonna be huge for the Chiefs.  We all know how Reid coaches his Quarterbacks. If Vick can somewhat do it, than why not Alex?

BP: Wild Card– Steelers over Jets, Texans over Ravens

Big Ben makes the plays that the Jets QB’s can’t.  This game will be a defensive struggle.  Ed Reed picks off Flacco to seal the win for Houston (Where is Kendrick Lamar when I need him “That sounds like Poetic Justice”)

BPDivisional Rd– Patriots over Steelers, Texans over Broncos

Tom Terrific continues to own the Steelers, while a windy day in Denver raises questions about Archie’s…  I mean Peyton’s decision to sign in Denver.

BPAFC Championship– Texans over Patriots

Texans get there revenge over the team that has dominated them over the last two postseason and get to the Super Bowl.  Texans just don’t wear dumb ass lettermen jackets this time.

JayWild Card–  Patriots over Ravens Steelers over Bengals

I think the youth of the Ravens will get exposed by the Sith Lord and Apprentice.  Big Ben makes everyone remember why he has 1 1/2 rings (we all know he didn’t do nothing but tackle a guy in the 1st Super Bowl run, so half a ring), and reminds the Bengals that the Steelers still run that division.

JayDivisional Rd– Steelers over Denver Texans over Pats

Steelers give Manning flashbacks to his Colt days with an 1 and done after getting the bye.  Texans get the edge with a Ed Reed and the rookie Hopkins comes up big to beat the Pats.

Jay: AFC Championship– Steelers over Texans

Welcome back to the Super Bowl Mr. Tomlin.  This will be a tight game and I think the Steelers win on last second Field Goal.

Jay:  Then we finally get that 49ers Steelers Super Bowl that never happened.

JAY: Washington Giants Eagles Cowboys-

In RG Thriller I trust, despite the racist name, Fletcher will hold down the defense enough.  I think the Giants bounce back sorta, but fall short of the playoffs.  Eagles are still a process and I don’t trust the Kelly offense yet.  Finally the bottom falls out for the Cowboys and Romo gets destroyed in the Media for the contract, but yet he will have his best statistical season.

CR: This division is the hardest to pick from because every year a different team wins the division.  Vick and RG3 might get hurt cause they don’t like to slide.  The Giants are always inconsistent.  The Cowboys are a ball of confusion because they are probably the most talented but never live up to it.  So let’s just say one NFC East team will make it.

JAY:  That’s a cop out CR we know 1 team has to come out of the NFC East, just go head and pick the Eagles cause we know you want to.

NFC North

BP:  Bears Packers Lions Vikings-

Tough division to call for me because I trust the Bears D, but don’t trust Cutler.  Trust ARod, but don’t trust Green Bay Defense.  Lions can go either way, and shoot Vikings made playoffs last year.

JAY:  Lions Packers Bears Vikings-

I know this is a shock because of how much I hate the discipline on the Lions, but I think last year was a wake up and Bush and Broyles will settle the Offense.  The People’s Champ average line and average Defense is not enough to overcome.  Marc Trestman experiment will be rocky at first, and I can see Marshall cracking.  Christian Ponder is to blame!

CR:  Packers Detroit Chicago Minnesota-

I have Green Bay winning the division, while Detroit barely makes it in.  Leaving Chicago and Minnesota at home. I believe Peterson on that HGH by the way and who knows what Chicago gonna bring.

NFC South

BP:  Saints Falcons Panthers Bucs-

Saints and Falcons will battle to the end, I really like the Panthers as they could be a dark horse, and Freeman has been too inconsistent and could be on the hot seat.

JAY:  Saints Bucs Falcons Panthers-

The Return of the Mack, Payton should right the ship.  I’m going out on a Freeman Branch and choosing the Bucs.  I like the revamped secondary, and I think there is enough muscles in the hamster to protect Freeman.  I think Ryan finishes the season with that terrible right side of line and that schedule is brutal.  Panthers will be 8-8 again and realize tha OC Mike Shula is gawd awful.

CR:  Atlanta Saints Tampa Carolina-

I predict another good year for Matty Ice, but the Falcons defense worries me.  People are hyping up these Saints like they revived themselves; good luck with that 3-4 defense.  Hopefully the name “Revis Island” would stick because somebody needs to throw Freeman a life jacket or something.  Freeman needs to swim not sink.  Then you have the sequel “The Crying Game 2” staring Cam Newton.

NFC West

BP:  49ers Seahawks Rams Cards-

49ers and Seahawks are the class of the NFC easy locks for playoffs.  A consistent Bradford would have the Rams in the hunt, and Bruce Arians will realize how special Andrew Luck really is #PalmerAintLuck #PalmerAintEvenLucky #WeDoRememberTheCardsOLine…Right.

JAY:  Seahawks 49ers Rams Cards-

Seahawks and 49ers will finish with same record, but those damn Rams will beat the 49ers so the Hawks will have a better division record.  Also I think midway through the season Kaepernick gets exposed until Harbaugh rights the ship for the playoffs.  Rams are going to be tough for EVERYBODY!  Cards will have their moments, but QB play will still haunt them.

CR:  Seahwaks 49ers Cards Rams-

Call this division the Wild Wild West, but don’t have that Will Smith song in your head, more like Kool Moe Dee if your ole’ school.  With this division I have Seattle leading the way followed by San Fran who also will make the playoffs.  Then Arizona then St. Louis. Don’t sleep on Arizona or St. Louis because they might be a force but I don’t see them in the playoffs.

PLAYOFFS

BPWild Card–  Falcons over Cowboys  Seahawks over Bears

In the playoffs it’s about which QB makes the fewer mistakes as Ryan and Wilson takeout Romo and Cutler.
BPDivisional Rd–  49ers over Falcons, Saints over Seahawks

49ers O to strong for the Falcons, while the playoff atmosphere in the Superdome is to much for the Seahawks
BPNFC Championship–  Saints over 49ers

Saints outscore 49ers as Kaepernick makes the one mistake in the game that Alex Smith wouldn’t have while driving 49ers down the field to win the game

JAYWildcard– Lions over Bucs  49ers over Washington

MegaTron will show the world how he got his name ala Fitz in 2008.  RG Thriller will push the 49ers Defense to the limit, but Washington will let Gore run wild.

JAYDivisional Rd–  49ers over Seahawks Saints over Lions

Talk about total opposite games.  The Physical beat up of Seahawks and 49ers, and the high powered Offense of Saints and Lions.  I’m taking the 49ers shutting the Seahawks up and stealing a win with a controversial call, by a ref, silencing the 12th Man.  I trust Brees, I don’t trust Stafford, and a key mistake late will ruin the Lions.

JAYNFC Championship–  49ers over Saints

This is vindication because the 49ers lost the Super Bowl here last year.  Coming back to the scene of the crime is a cleansing effect to take it back to the Super Bowl in NY!  Also Harbaugh has Payton’s number right now.
CRWild Card–  Detroit over Nfc East team Seattle over San Fran

Offense to strong in Detroit, but I’m still not sold on MegaFluke.  Last year I picked Seattle to win it all. People thought I was crazy but once they started looking like title contenders then it seemed like I knew what I was talking about.  This year they take care of the defending NFC champs.

CRDivisional Rd–  Seattle over Green Bay Atlanta over Detroit

You know I’m riding Seattle all the way.  Seattle shows that the “Fail Mary” was a fluke but the Seahawks are real.  ATL will rise up and handle Detroit, and the lack of discipline will rear its head in this game.

CRNFC Championship–  Seattle over Atlanta

The Dirty Birds will lose another heartbreaker in the GA Dome.  While the Seahawks right the ship and mistakes of last years Demons.

Why is the smallest position in football talk the most?  Darrelle Revis and Richard Sherman have this twitter war about who’s the best corner in the league.  Of course ESPN loves it!  But notice corners and receivers do the most talking.  From The Playmaker (Michael Irving) to T.O., even PrimeTime, to DeAngelo Hall.  Is being on the outside make you king of your own football Universe?

Notice quarterbacks don’t say anything (you make get Jay Cutler vs Philip Rivers beef, or a very confident Tom Brady) and they have every right to talk.  They are steady trying to prove themselves as an elite. Even guys on the line of scrimmage going thru the trenches have a right, because they maul each other every play.  Yet corners and receivers have this swag (imaginary or real) about them as if their “god” of football. …

Is the show Hard Knocks on HBO hard at all? I’m sorry, but this season with the Cincinnati Bengals seems like its a joke.  What’s so hard about it?  Is training camp tough?  Seems pretty easy.   Do they practice hard?  If in shorts and no pads is hard, then yes.  Are they playing physical at all?  Not even a bit, except for the first episode they did the Oklahoma drill.  Is this what really goes on in football now (Damn you CBA!)?

With the new need to protect players the NFL has taken away the physical nature of the sport.  Imagine that your an accountant, and for your training the company gives you easy problems, then expect you to handle complex problems later that week.  This is what the league has become and “Hard Knocks” is just showing the world that the league is becoming powder puffs.

Hard…  I mean “Soft Knocks” is just a joke now, you sure I’m not watching Def Comedy Jam?  All I can get from this show is laughter, grown ass men talking about superheroes, and Harrison flicking off the camera man.  Now if they show Harrison go out and hit somebody then that would be a great thing to watch. Unfortunately we are stuck seeing players with there girlfriends or the show highlighting a nobody that’s about to be cut.  I know that is part of the experience of the show, but give us something to root for.  Show a nobody working hard and getting cut because the team has other needs (Danny Woodhead anyone?).

With that being said maybe I should be critical about the team?  Is it me or does Coach Marvin Lewis seem a little soft or should I say suspect?  Even when he yells I don’t think I can take him seriously.   Could “Soft Knocks” be accidentally showing the beginning of the end of Marvin Lewis and neither him or HBO realize it?  Coach Zimmerman on the other hand is the real, they should just give him more time and let him cut loose, its to bad he doesn’t have a head coaching job (wink wink).

Bottom line is the show doesn’t portray how hard the sport of football really is.  Especially when the coach tells his team they wont have to practice in full pads for the rest of the season unless they piss him off.  Really???  Really!!!  And what happened to players getting cut on every episode?  This new CBA has partially killed the “Hard” in “Hard Knocks”, because these guys seem like they are not afraid of getting cut at all.  Despite the the team winning preseason games, this year of “Hard Knocks” is a joke.  I’m not  saving room on my DVR for this shit!

Let’s face it, Fantasy Football boils down to luck.  Even the most knowledgeable football fan can’t predict it perfectly.  There are too many factors – unpredicted injuries, quarterback starts to favor the tight end instead of the star running back or God forbid, you get caught up at work and forget to set your line up.  There is though, one thing you CAN and MUST control – not having a CRAPPY FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM NAME.  Here’s some ways to make sure even if your team sucks, your team name doesn’t:

  1. If you just googled “funny fantasy football team name” – your name sucks. We’ve all heard “Touchdown There” and “Make it Wayne”.

  1. If you just googled “funny fantasy football team name” – your name sucks. We’ve all heard “Touchdown There” and “Make it Wayne”.
  2. If you’re going to reference sports news – make it recent sports news. “Jerry’s Kids” is last year’s news (So last year’s news that some of you have already forgotten about PSU’s little shower scandal).  “Murnandez” is this year’s news.
  3. Do not, I repeat DO NOT, pay homage to your favorite NFL team.  Why you ask?  Because when you name your team “The Dirty Birdz” I know I can draft Mattie Ice and use him as leverage in a trade to get that star running back that no one in their right mind would trade.  All because you are a die hard Falcons fan.  Way to go Ace, you just traded your first round pick for a quarterback (a position you shouldn’t be drafting until at least the 5th round this year).
  4. Do feel free to make fun of your opponents and talk smack.  You can even change your name weekly to do so.  Does he have a hot mom?  Use it! (Jason’s  Mom Got It Going On; 2-minute drill in Ur Mom; I want to Bang Ms. Thomas).  Is he 0-7?  Use it! (No Wins, No Cry; Activate the Mercy Rule; Automatic Victory).  Did his TE just get convicted of murder and released from the team?  Use it! (insert all Hernandez jokes; Guns hide in Ponds; Where’s Zombie Johnnie Cochran).
  5. Be aware of who is in your league.  If you are playing with a bunch of dudes, restaurant employees, or just highly inappropriate people, sexual innuendoes are hilarious (She gives Woodhead; 2inches Flacco, 4 inches Huard; Percy Whipped; [extra credit if the player is on your team]).  If this is the first time in your girlfriend’s family’s fantasy league, sexual innuendoes makes Thanksgiving Dinner very awkward.

Bonus Points! – Bonus Points if your league makes the worst scoring team change their name to a Name of Shame every week.

So get out there, score big in your draft, and even if you accomplish nothing else this season, have a great team name.

Is it that serious that Riley Cooper said to N word towards other white people?  Of course he was wrong for using it, but he was at a Kenny Chesney concert. Most “niggas” don’t know who Kenny Chesney is, hell I didn’t and still some what don’t.  Does that make him racist?  Was he calling a black person a nigger?  If he used a different racial slur it wouldn’t be that much of a big deal.  Based on what Riley said, I dont have a problem with it.  How can we fault him when we (Black folks) use it all the time.  Do we own the word?  Chris Rock said it best “its not always the word but its the context in which the word is said.”

Brothas and Sistas it seems like we are the only race to hold on to racism more than others.  I’m not saying it’s not out there but sometimes you have to let ignorant things like this go.  Lets not forget how we separate ourselves from other blacks.  We call the rowdy, ignorant, or hood blacks “ niggas!”  I’m sure he has heard the black folks in the locker room yell “Nigga this, Nigga that”.  We shouldn’t blame Riley Cooper we need to blame ourselves, for keeping a word alive that we obviously don’t want used.
