As some may know my wife (as of Saturday) is a huge Florida State fan and she loves this kid. I want to wait until the Clemson game before I jump on the bandwagon.

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston’s hot start has catapulted him into third place in the latest HeismanPundit Heisman Straw Poll released on Tuesday.

The redshirt freshman has 17 touchdown passes in his first five games, including a 5-TD effort against Maryland this past Saturday. As a result, he collected 11 points and one first-place vote from the weekly panel of Heisman voters.

Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M leads the poll for the fourth week in a row. He tallied 20 points and six first-place votes to beat out Oregon’s Marcus Mariota, who had 15 points and two first-place votes.

Aaron Murray of Georgia was fourth with seven points while Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater collected the other first-place vote to place fifth.
